Honeycomb Group has been named the 12th best Housing Sector organisation to work for in the UK.

The list of best 25 housing associations to work for was published by social housing magazine, 24Housing and celebrates housing sector organisations across Britain with very good levels of employee engagement.

It comes a month after Honeycomb Group was named the 41st best not-for-profit company to work for in the UK by the Sunday Times Best Companies.

To celebrate, we asked staff from across the Group what their favourite thing is about working for Honeycomb Group.

Jez Chalmers and Sean Phoenix work for homeless charity, Concrete. Jez told us: “My favourite thing about working here is knowing that what we are doing is actually genuinely making a difference to the most vulnerable people in our city.” Sean agreed and added: “I love the comradery. It’s like a family away from home.”

Diane Thompson, Group Chief Executive, said: “It’s an inspiring place to work I love the fact you can you strike up a conversation with any member of staff and they ooze passion and desire to do a great job that has meaningful impact - my job is so enjoyable for that very reason.”

Gemma Packham works in customer service, answering calls, emails and online messages: “I like that we make a difference to people’s lives. You can see that the support you give customers creates a change in real time.”

Becky Fedoroff and Lucy Willis work for domestic abuse charity, Glow. Becky said: “It’s a very, very friendly place to work and I don’t feel like there’s a hierarchy within management, everyone’s voices get heard.” Lucy adds: “I really love the way creatively is actively encouraged.”

Lorraine Cantrell, works for Staffs Housing: “The people that I work with – we really get on. It’s a lovely environment and culture to work in.”

Ann Wood works for home improvement and support specialists, Revival: “I love coming to work. It’s great to know that I’m going to make a difference to someone and I love the people that I work with too.”
