Honeycomb Group appoints Executive Director of Operations

We have appointed Mary Walker as our new Executive Director of Operations.

Following several senior housing roles, Mary joined the Group in 2021. She first joined as Head of Customer Experience, before leading the Group through its ambitious improvement programme as Head of Improvement.

Altogether, Mary brings over 20 years of sector experience with a wealth of change management, transformation and service improvement skills. Most importantly, she brings a true passion for local people and places.

“It has been a privilege to help deliver Honeycomb Group services and witness the incredible impact across thousands of customers” explained Mary. “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to continue this work and look forward to supporting our operations teams through their development journeys.

“I am also excited to lead the team at such a pivotal time in the housing sector and ensure that customers remain at the heart of every decision made across the Group.”

Honeycomb Group Chief Executive Julie Guildford Smith is delighted to announce the news, she said: “Mary has significant experience across the sector and a proven track record of leading complex transformation and change.

“Mary is already a key figure of our leadership team and highly respected across our teams, customers, partners and wider community. She has guided many through major change and is instrumental to the success of our recent improvement programme.

“It is a great pleasure to appoint Mary as our new Executive Director of Operations and continue to harvest the incredible internal talent we have here at Honeycomb Group.”

Mary will officially begin her new role on 1 December 2023, with Interim Director Steve Wilson remaining in post for a further two months to ensure a smooth handover.
