This year marks a significant milestone for West End Village as we celebrate 15 years since it first opened its doors. Over the past decade and a half, the village has grown into a thriving, supportive community, where residents enjoy independence, connection, and peace of mind - all in a place they can truly call home.
Here at Honeycomb Group, West End Village is one of our three over-55 independent living villages, delivered through our affordable housing provider, Staffs Housing. Every aspect of the village has been thoughtfully designed with residents’ needs at the heart - from modern apartments and welcoming communal spaces to on-site amenities and supportive services.
To mark the milestone, the West End Village team hosted a celebration for residents and their families. The day was filled with laughter, live entertainment, special commemorative badges, and a 15-year celebration cake - a real reminder of the relationships and memories that make the village so special.
For us at Honeycomb Group, milestones like this are more than dates on a calendar - they reflect the long-term impact of our approach to building communities that support wellbeing, independence, and belonging. Over 15 years, West End Village has welcomed multiple generations of families, created truly meaningful connections, and provided reassurance for residents through life’s changes.

One resident, Lynn, who has lived at the village since it opened 15 years ago, shared how moving to West End Village gave her peace of mind she didn’t have before.
She explained: “I was living on my own and didn’t feel safe. Loud music at night frightened me and stopped me from sleeping. I found out about the village and the rest was history - I moved in the year it opened.”
Lynn’s experience quickly became a family story. After visiting, her mum decided to move in too, followed later by Lynn’s daughter, Tracey.
Tracey said: “Where else would you rather be? We have everything here right on our doorstep. The staff are so helpful and supportive, the residents are lovely, and you’ve got everything you need from the comfort of your own home. There’s always entertainment, something to do or celebrate, and a great community of people around you. The place is so clean, and you’re never on your own.”
This anniversary is a moment of pride for us at Honeycomb Group. We're taking the time to really reflect on our commitment to creating high-quality, sustainable communities where people can live well and feel truly at home. It’s also a reminder of what’s possible when mission-driven design meets resident-focused service.
