We're celebrating the contribution of Board member and Customer Services Committee (CSC) Chair Karl Dean - whose leadership has helped put customers at the heart of our work – as he steps down from his role this September.
Karl has played an important role across our organisation as a Trustee of Honeycomb Charitable Services, CSC Chair, and a strong advocate for customer voice, using his wealth of experience from senior roles across the housing, care and support sectors.
As CSC Chair, Karl’s leadership has ensured that the customer voice not only reached the Board, through meaningful engagement, but also shaped key decisions – strengthening the way that Honeycomb listens to and acts on the experiences of those it serves.
Beyond the CSC, Karl also supported the work of Honeycomb Charitable Services - Glow and Concrete - as a Trustee, helping oversee the launch of vital community initiatives such as LGBTQ+ homelessness support in Stoke-on-Trent and the development of domestic abuse support and prevention work in Derbyshire.
Julie Guildford Smith, Chief Executive of Honeycomb Group, said: “Karl’s leadership of the Customer Services Committee has been instrumental in ensuring that the customer voice is always front and centre in our work. He has brought warmth, insight and a deep understanding of both housing and care, helping to shape services that truly reflect our values.
"We’re grateful for his dedication and the positive impact he’s made, and we wish him every success in the future.”
Mary Walker, Executive Director of Operations at Honeycomb Group, added: “It’s been a privilege to work alongside Karl. He combines strategic thinking with a real empathy for the communities we serve, and he’s never lost sight of the people behind the policies.
"His guidance and challenge have been invaluable in strengthening how we deliver for our customers, and he leaves the CSC in a strong position for the future.”
