Staff from across Honeycomb Group rolled up their sleeves this month to join residents in Meir for a community day dedicated to tidying up and brightening the local neighbourhood.
Armed with gardening gloves, bin bags, and plenty of enthusiasm, colleagues worked alongside local people to carry out litter-picking, gardening, and waste disposal. The day was all about bringing people together to improve shared spaces and make a visible difference to the community.
One of the highlights of the day was supporting a local customer whose garden had become difficult to manage following a stroke. Her friend and neighbour, Brian—also a Honeycomb Group customer—asked for a little help in getting it back under control. Together with Honeycomb staff, Brian spent the morning weeding and transforming the garden, replacing an overgrown patch at the front with weed-preventing matting and bark to make it easier to maintain in the future.
Brian said: “It’s made such a difference. We couldn’t have done it without the help. It looks great now and will be much easier to manage going forward.”
The day was part of Honeycomb Group’s ongoing commitment to creating thriving communities and improving the wellbeing of its customers. By working hand-in-hand with residents, the Group is delivering on its strategic corporate plan goal of making neighbourhoods stronger, safer, and more connected.
Honeycomb Group colleagues left the day with muddy boots but big smiles, proud to have made a positive difference alongside the people they support.
