We're thrilled to announce that we've awarded our new responsive repairs contract to a local, family-run business.
At Honeycomb Group, we provide over 3,000 affordable homes, alongside domestic abuse, homelessness and general home support across Staffordshire.
Today we're happy to announce the appointment of LC Construction as our new responsive repairs provider, marking a new chapter in delivering high-quality, customer-focused repairs services for our communities across the county.
LC Construction is a family-run business, based in nearby Leek, who have previously supported Honeycomb Group with void property work. They bring extensive experience in social housing and a skilled multi-trade team, with in-depth knowledge of local homes and community needs.
The decision follows a thorough, customer-informed tender process, aimed at improving the responsiveness, transparency, and overall quality of repairs.
The partnership also reflects our ongoing commitment to listen to our residents and make improvements based on their feedback. Over the past year, our customers identified key areas for enhancement, including repair quality and consistency, communication, and appointment flexibility.
Mary Walker, Executive Director of Operations at Honeycomb Group, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome LC Construction as our new responsive repairs partner, and this appointment has been genuinely shaped by the voices of our customers. By involving our Repairs Focus Group Panel throughout the tender process, we made sure the new provider truly reflects what our residents want and deserve.
“LC Construction impressed us with their strong local roots, proven track record, and clear passion for delivering an outstanding service. This is more than just a new contract - it’s a real opportunity to raise the bar and give customers a repairs service they can trust and feel good about. Our values really do align and together, we’re focused on delivering more than just fixes - we’re building trust, improving lives, and strengthening communities.”
The new repairs provider will see Honeycomb Group residents benefit from improved recording and tracking of jobs, an enhanced focus on routine repairs and regular opportunities to provide feedback to shape continuous improvement.
News of the partnership also follows the launch of our brand-new housing management system, in partnership with another local company, Stafford-based Rubixx. The new system has streamlined our approach and will see a specialist feature for repairs operatives, which LC Construction will utilise.
Leigh Gayes, Director of LC Construction, added: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Honeycomb Group on this new chapter. Supporting local communities is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to be a local, family-run business that can now deliver even more for residents across Staffordshire.
“We know how important it is for customers to feel heard, supported and satisfied with their repairs service - and that’s exactly what we’re here to deliver. Our team is passionate about providing a responsive, high-quality service, and we’re excited to show customers the impact that a local, committed provider can have.”
We're working closely with LC Construction behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition, with continued updates to customers and stakeholders as the new contract goes live.
