Honeycomb Group proudly becomes a Dementia Friend

Dementia Friends

We’re proud to announce that we are now officially recognised as a Dementia Friend, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to creating happy homes, thriving communities and life-changing services for the people we support.

The achievement has been led by our EDI Forum, with colleagues across the organisation completing Dementia Friends training through the Alzheimer's Society. The training helps colleagues better understand what it's like to live with dementia, recognise when someone may need additional support and have the confidence to respond with empathy, patience and understanding.

For us, becoming a Dementia Friend is about much more than a badge. It's about putting our customers at the heart of everything we do.

Every conversation, visit and interaction is an opportunity to make someone's day that little bit easier. By increasing our understanding of dementia, we're helping to ensure customers living with dementia, along with their families, carers and loved ones, receive the support, reassurance and compassion they deserve.

Whether that's adapting the way we communicate, recognising the signs that someone may be struggling or simply taking the time to listen, these small actions can make a life-changing difference.

Driven by our colleagues
The initiative has been championed by Honeycomb Group's EDI Forum, leading the work to make Dementia Friends training available across the organisation.

It's another example of colleagues going above and beyond to improve the lives of our customers and create services where everyone can thrive.

EDI Forum Member Claire Roberts, said:
"At Honeycomb Group, we believe everyone deserves to feel understood, respected and supported. Becoming a Dementia Friend is an important step in making sure our colleagues have the confidence and knowledge to support customers living with dementia with compassion and understanding.”

"This has been a real team effort, and I'm incredibly proud of what we've achieved together. Every colleague who completes the training helps create a more inclusive organisation where our customers know they're valued, listened to and supported to thrive."

Supporting our customers every day
Around one in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime, meaning many of our customers, colleagues and communities will be affected in some way.

By becoming a Dementia Friend, we're strengthening our commitment to delivering person-centred services that recognise individual needs and help people live independently for longer.

It's another way Honeycomb Group continues to put people first and create services that make a lasting difference.
