At Honeycomb Group, we’re passionate about creating happy homes. That’s why we’re proud to share how our responsive repairs contractor, LC Construction, has helped make a real difference to the lives of people supported by Glow, our domestic abuse support provider.

Glow manages several refuges across Staffordshire, which are safe spaces that help people escape and recover from domestic abuse before moving on to a life that’s independent and free from abuse.

This month, Glow’s Stoke domestic abuse refuge received a welcome redecoration thanks to LC Construction’s generous gift.

Glow’s Service Manager, Donna Boon said: “The transformation here is incredible. For the past couple of years, we’ve wanted to refresh the space, but redecorating can prove expensive."

"That’s why we were over the moon when LC Construction, Honeycomb’s responsive repairs contractor, offered to completely redecorate the entire refuge, free of charge.

"In just three weeks, the team gave the building a fresh new look that feels brighter, warmer, and so much more welcoming for those living here.

"The contractors were incredibly respectful and professional throughout, and worked around our staff and residents with such care.

"We’re deeply grateful to LC Construction for their generosity. They’ve not only refreshed the walls, but they’ve lifted the spirits of everyone who calls this place home, now and in the future.”

At Honeycomb Group, we’re passionate about thriving communities and homes which help our customers thrive.

Asset and Contracts Manager, Neil Riley, explained: “At Honeycomb Group, social value and a shared passion for our local community is key.

"We’re all about making spaces and places better than they were before we arrived, and we’re always looking for ways to make a real difference to our communities, customers, and residents.

"When LC Construction heard about the refuge redecoration project, they jumped at the chance to get involved and give something back.

"We’re so thankful to the whole team for donating their time, their skills, and their energy to make a real difference in our communities.”

For LC Construction, this wasn’t just about paint, it was about people.

Director of LC Construction, Leigh Gayes, said: “As a local repairs provider, we’re passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of people right here in Stoke-on-Trent.

"We were thrilled to support Glow. Knowing that this project will help make daily life a little brighter for those living here, and that it frees up funds for even more vital support, means the world to us.

"We couldn’t have done it without the fantastic support from our partners at Johnstone’s Decorating Centre in Hanley, who generously donated all the paint needed to make this transformation possible. What was once a dated space is now bright, airy and welcoming.”
