This Trustees Week we’re delighted to share that Alice Hemsley-Myers, one of our Honeycomb Group Trustees and Chair of our Honeycomb Charitable Services Board, has been shortlisted in the VAST Trustee Impact & Innovation Award category as part of this year’s VAST Volunteer Star Awards.

This award recognises Trustees who have led or supported innovative approaches that make a measurable, positive difference in their community - and Alice’s leadership has done just that.

With over 20 years’ experience in finance and risk management, Alice has brought a wealth of expertise, integrity and vision to her role as Chair. Since joining Honeycomb, she has played a key role in strengthening governance, driving innovation, and keeping the focus firmly on impact for the local people receiving our services.

Under Alice’s leadership, the charity has achieved significant growth, including the development of 25 new accommodation units for victims of domestic abuse and people experiencing homelessness earlier this year. Her influence has also helped embed a culture of lived experience at the heart of decision-making, ensuring that customers’ voices guide every discussion at Board level.

“Alice has transformed the way we think about governance and impact across our charitable services,” said Executive Director of Support and Wellbeing, Kerry Birtles.

“Her passion, strategic insight and empathy have helped us create stronger services and a more inclusive approach to leadership. This recognition is so well-deserved and we couldn’t be prouder to have her lead our Charity Board.”

Alice’s recognition comes during Trustees Week 2025 – a time to celebrate and thank the incredible people who give their time, expertise and passion to help charities thrive.

At Honeycomb Group, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank and recognise our Trustee team - Andrew Davies, Georgina Patel and Tim Edwards – and wider Honeycomb Group Board community.
