Honeycomb Group’s marketing and communications team have been shortlisted for Communications Team of the Year.

The Housing Heroes awards, ran by Inside Housing and the Chartered Institute of Housing, sees nominations from across the UK’s housing sector and celebrates the best of the industry.

Honeycomb’s communication team run all of the internal and external marketing and communications campaigns for the Group, as well as for housing association Staffs Housing, home support and repairs service Revival, domestic abuse charity Glow and homelessness support charity Concrete.

Their campaigns over the last 12months have helped market 20 shared ownership homes, bringing just under £1.7million into the business, digital fundraising campaigns, with 60% of the total donations being raised on social media, and supported our domestic abuse charity Glow’s education team to deliver 29 programmes to 12 schools, giving 800 children the knowledge, skills and advice they need to understand healthy relationships.

Last year, the team of 5 worked to rebrand the whole organisation in just under 6 months. This included building 5 new websites, creating brand new launch content for 15 social media channels, rebranding and rewriting all existing marketing collateral, as well as rebranding our vehicle livery, intranet and all of our offices.

The team were also involved in organising the staff brand launch event, which saw 235 staff members enjoy a ‘Crystal Maze style’ team building afternoon after the new brands were revealed to them, as well directing 5 brand films, used during the internal and external launches.

Sarah Pye, Communications and Marketing Manager at Honeycomb Group: “Working in the communications and marketing team at Honeycomb Group is both and honour and a privilege. We get to work with all areas of the organisation and support teams that are transforming people’s lives.

“One social media post, website link, promo video, marketing campaign, press release, poster or leaflet could provide access to our homes and services and change a customer’s life for good. Our role internally means that staff are engaged and informed and that we all understand our purpose, mission and vision.

“I feel like the luckiest. Because I get to work every day with a fantastic team of storytellers, creative thinkers, imaginers, event planners and project managers (oh, and tea drinkers! We all love a good brew!) And I am thrilled that our work and dedication has been recognised through this award nomination.”

Group Chief Executive, Diane Thompson said: “I am delighted for the team. They deserve the recognition for the huge contribution they have made and continue to make to the whole Group. The past year has seen a vast amount of change and challenge with our Group re-branding, and the team have delivered this seamlessly.”

The Housing Heroes awards take place on Thursday 10 September 2020.
